Liverpool vs Maribor, Champions League game week 4 preview

As it stands Liverpool sit top of Group E at the half way point with the group well and truly in their own hands. 

The reds will be looking to take advantage of playing bottom of the group Maribor. The Merseyside club are in a great position to make this group their own.

In an ideal world a draw between Sevilla and Spartak Moscow will put Liverpool ahead by two points with two games to go and would be key to Liverpool's aspirations of finishing the group in first place. 

Since the 7-0 drubbing at the Ljudski vrt stadium, Maribor have caught up with Igor Biscan's NK Olimpija Ljubljana at the top of the Slovenian league. Whereas Liverpool lost to Tottenham and beaten Huddersfield to move to 6th in the Premier League. 

This could be the game where Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain makes his full debut for the reds. Liverpool fans have been calling for his name on the team sheet and with Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane ruled out  it could be the Ox's time to shine. 

Liverpool should have more than enough to get to ease past tonight's opponents even without the magician Coutinho in the squad, the reds have the attacking prowess to dominate this group. 

My predicted line-up:

My predicted result: Liverpool 4-0 Maribor
