With the depature of Dougie Freedman at Crystal Palace, after playing over 300 games for the club and managing just under 100 he has left to be Bolton manager. This has got me thinking where has loyalty gone in football? Now I can understand when players like Alessandro Del Piero leaves Juventus to go to Australia when he is in his later years in football, but when players like Andy Carroll leaves Newcastle to join Liverpool when he was a boy hood Newcastle fan to join a place where he doesn't fit in, just for money.

It has seen to become a new trend in football lately, moving to a club, not to get played, not to grow as a footballer, but to enjoy a few years on too much money and watch your team mates play for 90 minutes while you sit on the bench. Now some moves are just silly, such as the Scott Sinclair move to Manchester City, who I will mention a lot, he is a fantastic young player who was great for Swansea last year but instead of getting 90 minutes most weekends he has moved to the champions of England to sit on the bench. Sinclair is on around double of what he was on last year with the Swans. He played in every premier league game for Swansea last year, whereas now he has played in 2 of the 8 games so far.

A list of who I think are unloyal players:

Fernando Torres - Liverpool to Chelsea

Ashley Cole - Arsenal to Chelsea

Carlos Tevez - Manchester United to Manchester City

William Gallas - Chelsea to Tottenham

Samir Nasri - Arsenal to Manchester City

Robin Van Persie - Arsenal to Manchester United

There have be some remarkable players who have dedicated their lives to their clubs and would never leave. Recently Steven Gerrard had come out and said he had a lot of offers to move away from Liverpool but could never leave the club he loved. Just like Lionel Messi he owes everything to Barcelona and would never leave. Also I have a lot of respect for the Juventus players who stayed with the club they loved when the got relegated, Gianluigi Buffon, Pavel Nedved, Mauro Camoranesi and Alessandro Del Piero.

A list of players who get respect for sticking by their club:

Pele with Santos

Sepp Maier with Bayern Munich

Matt Le Tissier with Southampton

Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes with Manchester United

Paolo Maldini with AC Milan

I don't often rant but this was a one of for players who do not respect football like the fans of their clubs.

Thank you for reading.
